NUST One started from a simple frustration: NUST students juggle several separate portals just to check a timetable, a notice, or a grade. None of them talk to each other, and none of them are built for a phone screen first.
We wanted a single, focused app that brings the things students check daily — grades, course activity, and class announcements — into one place, without trying to be everything at once.
What we focused on first
For the first release, we deliberately kept scope narrow:
- Native Qalam access — grades and attendance, pulled in with your existing Qalam login, no rebuilding the portal.
- Native LMS access — enrolled courses and deadlines from Moodle, without opening the LMS site separately.
- Class events in one feed — so quizzes, makeup classes, and announcements from your CR don't get missed.
Where NUST One has gone since
Since that first release, NUST One has grown from a portal shortcut into a genuine academic companion. The two additions students ask about most are the GPA Predictor, which turns your graded Qalam results into a live predicted semester GPA, and the What-If Predictor, which lets you test a hypothetical grade before it's posted and see how it moves your GPA. Class Events also grew a comment thread, and the app now supports multiple visual themes.
If you want the full breakdown of the GPA math, we wrote a separate deep-dive on how the predictor works.
We're still actively gathering feedback from students. If you're a NUST student and have feedback, get in touch — we read every message.
